overview
Introduction
As human population grows leads to
Demand for natural resources
The degradation of forests and wildlife habitats
Human-wildlife conflicts
Human-Wildlife Conflict = Negative interaction between humans and wildlife
Approximately 2 Cr compensation has provided
This number will be extremely high if we consider the entire state
1.5 Cr to 2 Cr spent for catching the particular animal

Constraints
Opportunity Mapping
Knowledge about the forest scheme and precautionary measure to prevent the human animal conflict.
Crop damage cases are being reported across Maharashtra, but because this scheme is not widely known, an awareness campaign required. Also, to explain the significance of conservation and the Human animal conflict.
Market value of cattle and crop.
The ready reckoner rate is the minimum value set by the government, based on which property transactions take place. There is no as such fixed parameter to decide the market value of the livestock and crop.
Polygon area calculation
In this digital age, officers are also using measuring tapes to calculate area.

What other NGO’s are doing?
Some of the key points they provide are listed below.
The practices change drastically according to the landscape and type of animal.
Spreading awareness according to this factor is not possible because landscape can be managed but animals make all the difference.
One to one meeting is effective but not possible to Do.
Gramsabha is organised to educate the people but it is not that much effective.
Communication Gap between the people and forest Department.

Define
Why this Awareness campaign is needed?
Financial assistance is insufficient to compensate families for their losses.
The forest department is running an awareness campaign.
The campaign overlooks key factors and lacks a user-centric approach.
Casualties rise during summer due to overlapping Tendu leaves and Moh collection.
Investing in a user-centric awareness campaign is more cost-effective than compensation and animal capture.
